Yeah, I think any from official distributors will definitely be 1.75L. You might get some random chipper that still has old 2L ones, or are sourcing them from grey area distributors, like how you might see foreign coke cans in chippers -but not in dunnes.

The 1.75L annoyed me, I have stopped buying coke

I like this tesco diet cola, I don't like the other tesco ones. A few other posters agreed this one is good

They have trays of cans on special offer too. Can't remember rightly but the 7up and club orange were good value. San pellegrino 6 packs were €3 for the more discerning fizzy drinkers.

Some flavours don't have MSG, if you can be bothered reading an ingredient list that looks like a James Joyce novel.

When does this offer expire? Dunnes is a bit away from me so I don't want to go out and get dressed for nothing :pac:

depends on the sweetener, but I think most use stuff that does degrade upon heating so is unsuitable

MSG can go under many benign names to disguise it. Not that it bothers me, I have a 250g bag of pure MSG, I love the stuff. Its funny so many people consider it some crazy new harmful additive, when their granny has probably been sprinkling aromat on stuff all the time, "but grannys gravy tastes soooo good" -yep, that's MSG, gorgeous.

I never knew there was a prawn cocktail pringles.

In the EU, MSG must be declared on the label by law, either as 'monosodium glutamate' or by its E-number, E621.

In the EU, MSG must be declared on the label by law, either as 'monosodium glutamate' or by its E-number, E621.

Not really the forum for this stuff, but I was under the impression that if additives were below a certain % they did not have to be declared, so there could be stuff with E621 without it on the label.

But I would also like to see the link to this law, are you claiming all foods with the compound C5H8NO4Na in them have to be declared on labels? i.e. if it is naturally occuring.

If this is the case and I had issues with MSG I would still be hugely concerned, I am in no doubt there are food with extremely similar compounds and actions that C5H8NO4Na will have which are not declared as MSG. So its more semantics, like "the doctor told me to stay off the beer, this whiskey gets me fcuked up beyond belief but I'm sticking to his advice". This again is presuming people see MSG or extremely similar compounds as some sort of bad thing to avoid.

My Irish label on my bag of pure MSG says "ingredients: tapioca flour 40%, cane 60%" perhaps this is illegal, if so people should be aware.
