    Guys,

2007 bmw e60 520d Auto. have it 5 years, full bmw service history to this day.

this year cold starts are a problem.

Start the car no problem. but when i put her into D drive , she will either cut out or have zero power for maybe 30-50 seconds. She will crawl away for this length of time.
even if i put my foot all the way to the floor. the rev counter stays at 1000revs.

i got the glow plugs and glow plug module replaced. But no change.

anybody come across this problem?

Has your battery ever been replaced?
Weak batteries can appear as weird and wonderful issues in BMWs.

Have you had it scanned by someone with proper gear? Could be a lot of things, drive by wire throttle body or pedal potentiometer gone a bit bonkers? Fuel pressure?

bmw had it plugged in and all they found was glow plug issue. they did mention that the battery wasn't at 100% so maybe this is my issue. would weak battery cause this power issue?

I'd have guessed EGR valve, but it's surprising that it's not throwing a code if that's where the problem lies. I had similar loss of power issues and a new EGR solved it. The car threw a fit, lost power and gave me engine light and codes so it was easy enough to identify. Otherwise it might be loss of pressure somewhere, boost pressure down due to bad hoses or connections, but I'm not sure that would be a cold start only issue.
