Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One of my friend was in a same situation a year back. To whom should she be complain her ordeal?

    The UN human rights commission.

You can only make a complaint to the UN Human Rights Commission when you have "exhausted your domestic remedies". Now that the State has paid compensation to Amanda Mellet, and therefore it has been established that compensation is payable, I think it might be necessary for any other claimant to apply for similar compensation - either directly to the Dept of Health, or through the courts - and have the application refused before the UNHRC would entertain a complaint.

Maybe best to raise this on the Legal Discussion forum.

Prof Sarah Cleveland, an independent member of the UN committee, has told The Irish Times that if women in a similar situation to Ms Mellet took a case to the committee, the Government would also be required to pay them compensation.

Ms Mellet had taken a case against Ireland to the UN Human Rights Committee, which found that her rights had been breached by Ireland’s strict ban on abortion.

Surely a woman should be able to do what she wants with her own body.
