    Hi,

I'm wondering what people's thoughts on Facebook are?
They're closer to being in the Chinese market, 1.2 billion people.
revenue from mobile represents over 80% of its revenue, this expected to grow.
    Most investors recommending 'buy'.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Pa.

Do you think Chinese people really want to use facebook? I find that a bit hard to believe, considering their own QQ/weixin/weibo/youku/ etc have been constantly a few steps ahead of google/facebook/twitter/youtube for several years now, in terms of functionality and technology.

How are they closer to being in China? The Chinese Gov doesnt want them in China. They cant censor them easily and it isnt a Chinese company. The Chinese Gov favours Chinese IT companies. Netflix isnt in China, the Chinese Gov dont like the fact that a Chinese business could offer the same thing.

I personally thought FB was a dog and would have never considered buying it. But its revenue growth from mobile is impressive. I just dont know where it will be in 5 years time. A lot of young people arent too keen on it anymore. Their stats show that

I tend to keep an eye on the apps my teenage kids are using and FB isnt one of them. The social media apps they use have changed greatly in the last 10 years. While I don't see the demise of FB I just cant see where growth and revenues are coming from in the future.
I`d say keep you powder dry at the moment and wait to see what new technologies are going to emerge.
Amazon Echo and Google home will be interesting to see if they bring about a new form of interaction that becomes main stream.

Facebook own messenger, instagram and WhatsApp. 3 of the most popular apps and that's not going to stop. If they bought twitter at a decent price they would have even more.

Facebook have impressive growth in their free cash flow. But I do wonder given their size, what room is left for growth? When you have close to 2 billion users, you eventually start hitting the ceiling on the total world population.

Zuckerberg started Internet.org to connect the world to the Internet. Do you think that's for there benefit or for his. For every city he connects that's more possible Facebook users. That's his goal. Everyone on Facebook.

Forget about China. FB can grow lots in India and other developing markets.
