    Hi All

Looking at a duster on pcp and was wondering if anyone who got one on pcp in 2013 has traded it against a new duster (or other car)when the 3 years was up and if so what was the trade in value?

I'm trying to figure out the realistic depreciation for an average duster
ie 3 years old in good condition with 35 - 45k miles

    Any help or insight appreciated

    P

Based on what dealers are advertising them on Carzone for, I'd expect a trade in value of around €9,000 against a new one, possibly a little more than that, but not as far as €10k in my opinion.

Just remember that the Duster is getting some sort of overhaul or revamp in 2017 so if you buy the existing model it will have a lower resale value in 3 years time.

Indeed - it'll be next year but I was just looking for a ballpark. Anybody out there with actual figures?

Maybe I'm wrong about how PCP works - but my feeling is that not many would have been bought in 2013 on PCP.

They were marketed as a 'cheap car', why would someone buy one on PCP when they could buy a brand/model that has more sales history behind it so they could be more certain of trade in value?

Read ROR's post again. That is very very close to actual current figures based on actual resale prices of 3 year old cars.

by actual figures i mean someone who actually had a duster and traded it in - I can do estimates myself but they are estimates

ROR is involved in the business, hence why I recommend his advice.

Because Dacia offer no discount, you'll be given a lower trade in allowance against a new one in 3 years compared to if you trade in against something else.

Guy I work with bought one in 2013 Duster on PCP, was being given a trade in of €9700 against a new one earlier in the year. The same dealer was offering a trade in allowance of nearly €11000 against a new Kadjar though so he bought that instead.

hi kceire - thanks for that

Re the 9700 can I ask is that for an alternative or signature

if alternative - I was quoted 17500 for a new one or 19500 for signature
of in the first case that would mean depreciation of 7800 which isn't too bad
for three years motoring whereas if its a signature hat would be 9800 which is hectic

Can't remember what spec he had, wasn't the basic one but don't think it was top either.

if ti was mid spec (signature) i think that would mean depreciation of just under 10k for three years which is steep for a sub 20k car

    cheers

Its had two revamps since it came out already I think the next one will be a new car based on the previous Nissan Qushqui thats according to Auto Express anyway.

    Peace and long life.
