Full V5C

So I've agreed a price for a car with a dealer in the UK, but not gone ahead with purchase yet. I've asked him for the full V5C but he is refusing.

Are there any official sources on the web that I can point him to that explains that I need this document?

I've spent a fair bit on this car search, I'd be very unhappy for it to fall apart at what is an administrative hurdle.

From the DVLA website. Section 1, point 3.

It reads as if its a UK resident exporting a vehicle they own rather than a UK resident sellng to a foreign buyer, but the same info applies.

If the seller still has doubts get them to ring the DVLA directly themselves for clarification.

Follow the link to the v5c instruction notes. See page 8 as to what the seller must do if he sells it to someone who does not have a UK/GB address.
