I recently found out my parents broadband is being throttled daily at 5/gb a day, then it slows down drastically after that. It was my understanding that Net Neutrality was passed into law in the EU and that this practice has been made illegal, can anyone clarify as to why this could still be occurring?

Net neutrality is about equal access to all of the internet, not unfettered access for one individual. 5GB/day is plenty and seems like a reasonable usage cap before throttling.

Net neutrality means you get the same access to all websites.
