Glass splashback in shower

    Hi everyone,
I am doing up my bathroom and I was wondering if anyone has put glass panels/splashback in the shower cubicle as opposed to tiles? I've seen in in kitchens and I wonder if it is as effective in the bathroom? I know that I could probably tile it for cheaper, but I would prefer no grout to make it easier to clean.
Do any of you have it and does it last? Due to the holes for the shower head etc., does water ingress at all behind the panel? Thanks.

It can be done but the devil is in the detail in relation to fixing the glass itself but also how the shower fittings/shower tray/doors/screens and interact with the glass.
If done correctly in a well thought out and methodical fashion there should be no issues with water ingress.

Thanks for the information. What would the order of works be? I'd imagine that it should be fitted after the tray is in place, then the splash back and shower screen?

I had one project where we had an original brick wall which from a conservation point we didn't want to tile over so we put clear glass over it in the shower area. Looks good and protects the brick behind for future generations as the glass can be removed should the room be converted to another use. The order you have is correct. Tray, splash back and then shower screen.

I'm still undecided, but if I get it I'll post a picture.

Even with soft water it will be a b$$$$ to keep clean unless u "window clean" it after each use while still wet.
