Somebody has defamed my character over local radio

He is always attempting to bully me and I have witness'; he doesn't bother me it the slightest though - i just think he's behaving like a child.
He said <details removed> (quite clearly) over the radio when I'm not and hardly even know him.

Can anyone advise on what my options are for dealing with this, I can't afford a solicitor at the moment.

I'll get a copy of the radio show tomorrow.

if legal representation is not an option and you're not bothered in the slightest, what kind of options were you hoping for?

See a solicitor if you want proper legal advice on this.

If you can't afford a solicitor, you may be able to look into getting legal aid from the Legal Aid Board. Also, you could go to FLAC, which is operated by the Citizens' Advice Centres. There is no facility to follow up on a meeting with a lawyer from FLAC, so the possibilities are more limited there.

Legal advice is not allowed to be given on this site. Also, it cannot be allowed for details to be given here, which might identify parties to this issue.

EDIT: another user has very helpfully advised of the following:
