Otters in North Mayo

For a couple of years I have been trying to get good images of an Otter that is using a stream local to me. The stream comes off the mountain about 2k away and runs towards the Moy about 4K away. Local people have never seen them on any of the waterways in my area.

I use a trail camera. Over a couple of years I have only ever managed to catch fleeting partial images...... until now.

I was totally gob-smacked to see not one but two using the small stream. I wonder whether this is a male and a female or female with this years cub. I know they extend their territories in the winter.

To say I am pleased is an understatement. The images renewed my interest which was beginning to flag.

    TT
