    Hi All


    Long time lurker first time poster. Im looking to find out the best place to do a flying lesson. Ive always wanted to be a pilot but other commitments came up as is life. I want to do a few lessons and see is flying something i really want to do and take it from there so depending how it goes i may be back with loads of questions on what are the next steps .

    you have pretty much two options unless you want to spend more than an hour on commute - NFC in Weston or www.einc.ie. I personally fly with EINC, NFC are more expensive. I suggest you try both and see what works for you and what doesn't. Also, if you don't plan to go commercial, consider microlights. That will save you a small fortune.. Ah and of course the ever so important advice number 1 - before you spend any money - I'm not talking about trial flights - but before you engage into training, make sure you get your medical sorted! For private pilots it's not a big deal, but there's no reason to put it off, I know a few people who waited til they are about to be sent solo only to realize that class 2 medical can't be taken for granted

    Thank you Martinsvi that's really helpful wasn't too sure where to start TBH . On the medical yes I will look into that I'm slightly short sighted in one eye and wear glasses very rarely as advised by my optician

    it can be daunting alright, but once you dip your toes in it, everything will fall into places. Don't worry about anything, take one step at the time and right now that is - book your trial lesson and get going
