Pumbing Design - Metric & 3 Zones with UFH

    Hi,

Bought a 3 bed house that needs some work and thinking I'll replumb it as a project!

Wondering if there's any reason to use Imperial rather than Metric, seems Metric has more support with parts bought online - Chadwicks do both but said 95% is Imperial... I'd prefer Metric TBH!

Other thing I'm thinking about is using 3 zones with a combi boiler to save space (assuming water pressure if enough).
    Zone 1 - upstairs rads
    Zone 2 - downstairs rads
Zone 3 - UFH in planned new extension

I'd like to use an S-Plan with motorised valves and a wifi enabled controller so I can turn on remotely, but finding it hard to locate a 3 channel modern controller.

Lastly, can I use the HW channel on a controller to control the UFH zone?!

Any opinions or options on the above appreciated!!

    Thanks...

You will need a 4 channel time clock as you'll need a zone for hot water. Check out Eph Ember

I don't see why not, be sure to have each zone powering a stat each. If you go for a combi boiler you'll probably just need the boiler on a fused spur supply so that you always have hot water on demand.
