can't add hotmail to android device

Hi All; anyone have any issues adding hotmail account to their android device? My account wasn't syncing last week so deleted it and tried to readd. When I try to do this it just says "checking incoming server settings" and stays like that. Downloaded the outlook app but it's terrible.

I just use the Gmail app for my Hotmail.
