The g4 play seems to be getting the newest upgrades

The s550 looks to have the best specs

    Let's see

    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-motorola-moto-g4-play-1gb
    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-wileyfox-swift
    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-cubot-x17-s
    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-cubot-x15
    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-cubot-S550

    Pretty similar Phones.
-Moto G play edition comes with 1GB of RAM, that's an important point nowadays with newer versions of android. Rear camera 8mpx.
-Wileyfox Swift "gb of RAM, better camera, not a very good battery (2500), and I've heard their customer support is quite bad (if not, i'd ve bought a Swift2+ that phone is bang for budget but the phone you might have a 50/50 chance of receiving a defective unit that reboots/freezes randomly)
    Cubot Gang:
Cubot X17 S - Overall seems good phone, good camera, 3gb of ram but battery is not that good. good ppi resolution
Cubot X15 - Good phone, 2gb of ram, better battery (2750), good camera, good PPI resolution
Cubot S550 - you can pay extra bucks for 3gb version (pro), good camera, good battery, ppi resolution not that good (similar/less than Moto G4 Play)

From that place on, I'd watch reviews on Youtube. For sure I'd spend more bucks (if possible!) and go for G4 non-play version.

They're bang-average fones for the money

A Mi4c from top one aliexpress is light years ahead for the same money, notwithstanding any issues with 4g.

There is a 2gb version of the play. Might be out of budget though.

I had my doubts initially. On Moto US site, it says phone has 2Gb, whereas Moto UK says 1GB, then when you go to see the small-print, it says something about the battery that makes no sense. When trying to add to the cart, you can't choose the model with the extra GB.
So, basically. Yes, there seems to be a model... where to find it, nobody knows! (damn you smallprint-so-broken-website-moto).

I think the Moto G4 Plus seems to be the recommended budget phone at the mo ?

    Or the OnePlus ?

A budget phone for me is 100 or less. These are 150~200 phones. The OP said "New phone under 100". For me that would be the play, because I would want stock Android, that has a chance of getting updates. I would stretch to get the 2GB/16GB version though, which will be more than 100 :(. That said we have a Moto G 3rd Gen 1GB/8GB in the house and its fine. That was under 100 on Meteor. You also have the Moto E 3rd gen on Argos for 125.

    This is it on Amazon.

    "Product Description

Moto G4 Play brings you a 5" H.D Display, 4G speed, Quad core processor, a 2800 mAh, all day battery all in a splashproof design. Note:The device comes with 1GB of internal RAM "

Online adverts are quite tricky. I saw on reviews G4 Play came with 2Gb, others with 1Gb only. Nonetheless, the link you gave me says 1Gb. Best 'theory' ATM would be US model -> 2Gb, whereas UK model -> 1Gb

Keeping ontopic. ATM chinese phones are worthy unless you'd like to go for an old piece of phone like the Nexus 4 (I have one and still kicks ass, but battery time is quite lame and non UK-LTE Band support)

I don't think its US or UK. Lets ignore the US version because you won't be buying that.

The 1GB is the 8GB verson and the 2GB is the 16GB version. I don't think there is a 1GB/16GB.

Recently Moto phones White is Dual Sim and Black is Single Sim, though thats not true of all different models.

If it says 16GB I would say its the 2GB. Regardless of the advertising text. Why they can't have proper model no's I have no idea. Some people like the make simple things complicated.

The chinese phones give you more bang for buck. That is certainly true. But the motos and the samsungs are good enough for most people.
