Not sure about 80s, but will say facebook is great for stuff like old maps & photos, there are lots of local groups and many postings of old photos & maps & stuff like that.

However the 80s is fairly recent and they usually go for older maps/photos. There are interesting videos of people driving around dublin in the 80s

Maybe ask the OSI? They will probably have a map from the 80's.
