faulty expansion tank

    i want to replace afaulty expansion tank if i screw it off will water contuine to
    flow outa the pipe and will ptfe tape do to put on the thread when im putting the new one on thanks for replys

    Yes water will flow when you unscrew it. You need to turn off the incoming water and drain down the system to below the level of the expansion vessel. A few turns of ptfe tape should seal the joint.

    thanks do i turn off the mains water going into the house or the shut off valve near the expansion vessel its apressurised system i have
