Do Gardai ever shown up?

4 cars smashed in my estate at around 11 pm Gardai called showed up at 9am and do nothing. Next night another neighbours car smashed front, rear lights and front windscreen again Gardai called except this time they didn't even bother show up. Another situation was in a car with a friend and got t boned again Gardai called never showed up. Do they ever show up or do anything? I see them every weekend sitting in a car beside pubs acting like private security guards so saying that they don't have the manpower or resources is not an excuse. I have lost all my hope in the Gardai and I literally see no point in even bothering to call except to report for insurance reasons.

Sure half the time they turn up to things like this, they aren't wearing their hats which means that the criminals end up get getting off!
