Water storage heating making noise

We have a dual gas solar panel water heating system .the Gas water heating is on a timer . We have this timed for 30mins in the morning . When the water is heating via gas for this 30mins there is a load humming from the joule storage tank . Enough to wake us. There is an expansion vesssel fitted. The water is heating up…

This does not happen when the water is heating via the solar panels.
Any ideas what might be causing this.
