Hi guys, I'm going through a fitness change at the moment, trying to lose weight and be healthy in general again.

More than likely myself and my partner will try for a baby in the next 3 years. It's a ridiculous question Im sure, but Im 26, should I be taking folic acid now or later.

Recommendation is to start folate at least 3 months prior to conception. Many people take it regularly just in case.

Is it safe for me to take it now?

Now. Why not? It's like.... 9 euro for a 3 month supply. Why wouldn't you. No side effects. Spina bifida very serious or else lethal.
