Imagine ISP issues

    Folks,

Starting this thread to highlight my well known problems with Imagine. I was a customer if theirs from 2010 - 2011 when they were pedalling their WIMAX crap.

Whilst the technology was poor their customer service was non existent.

I was overcharged multiple times and the workmanship carried out of my house was embarrassing. The router was installed on top of a kitchen cabinet because it was the closest point to where the antenna had to go.

Trying to get a response from emails and phones calls was impossible.

They openly admitted to not supporting P2P traffic.

My advice to anyone thinking of entering into a contract with Imagine is to take a look at some of the issues various customers have had with them over on the Imagine LTE rural broadband thread.

The LTE product actually looks impressive if you cannot avail of any other ISP but just be aware of who you are dealing with.

    Thanks,

Chances are less than 10% of their customer care staff from 2011 still work there, its not really relevant now.

But you'll rant away anyways. Write a blog...

I would disagree that work practices have changed based on recent issues posters have detailed on the thread I have referenced.

But you go ahead and dismiss a thread without looking at the evidence.

I doubt they have sacked 90% of their staff in just four years. Still find them atrocious and that is this month I have been dealing with them

Not sacked, quit. Turnover in contact centres is huge.

I think it is a good idea you have highlighted how bad imagine are with this thread. Had several install issues which in fairness were eventually sorted although still had to pay for the service when it was unusable. But this was not to last!
Speeds were great for the first six weeks then fell apart. For what is advertised as fibre speed is more like dial up! For 12 weeks i tried and tried to contact them and kept being fobbed off. It wasn't until comreg got involved that they eventually offered to try and do something but was not possible as the simple fact is they Lied and lied in relation to the product. I was told they would keep max 400 users per mast but this they did not do. As soon as they lost the tender for the nbp they packed and packed people on to an over subscribed mast. Max speeds were 0.1mb to 2mb/s and generally unusable. Again nothing was done and told can speak to full tech support and second tier support would pass the issue on. They never did and never called. Every day I called but still nothing. All the whole charging me 60 euros pretty month. They now never have tech support or customer care on in their live chat but they have sales always active in live chat.

Simple point of advice - NEVER GO NEAR THIS SHOWER OF CHANCERS. they were poor when the Op had their wimax service and are even worse now with their lte service. They even have users like arklow to comment on how good it is to promote sales whilst openly admitting on phone to me they monitor that thread.
