UFH in an airtight, 3g extension?

    Hi,
Would there be any reason why UFH would not be a runner in a well spec'd extension? Its just rad positioning would be awkward if we went down that road.

There is currently an oil boiler and rads in the remainder of the house. 24 sq.m extension will have triple glazed windows and a 200mm cavity with blown Eco bead.

The plan is to replace the boiler with the works and also put in a small wood burning stove. The goal would be to decrease overall heating bills if at all possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Edited to add, the title is not quite correct when I say airtight, we will have to install trickle vents unfortunately.

200mm cavity and triple glazed windows ....... with trickle vents ?? Sounds like a well insulated block of Swiss cheese
If the extra cost of a 200mm cavity over say a 150mm cavity coupled with the extra cost of triple versus double glazing was all diverted instead to improving insulation, air-tightness, etc in the rest of the house ... then would it be a better spending of your money ?!

I hear what you're saying. There is not a whole lot of wall (most of it glass) so 200 cavity not much extra cost. Also looking at replacing all windows with 3g. The house was renovated less than 10 years ago so not a lot we can do that won't undo all that work. This is a job we are doing for the mil as part of a bigger project so just want to ensure she'll be comfortable with as low running costs as possible.
