Ok just curious on this, me and my mate have a small bet on . He says back in 1997 ronnie made a break and got paid 147,000 for getting a 147 in that 1 game in the tournament. Is he right?

    Nowadays it's only 10k for a 147, did he really get 147000 in 1997 for hitting a 147?

Yes, your friend is correct. Ronnie received £147,000 for making a 147 at the 1997 World Snooker Championship, plus £18,000 for the highest break of the tournament for a total of £165,000. The prize for a 147 at the World Championship was £147,000 from 1995 until 2011, when they started cutting costs.
