    Hi Folks,

Quick question. I am working for a large multinational, but recently I've got entertained by a company direct competitor- lets call them company X :D. In my contract it says that for a period of 6 months I shouldn't accept positions which may directly or indirectly compete with company business in the regions of UK, US or Ireland.

Now the company X is located in Canada (it would be my place of work), but HR is in US.

Do you guys think there's a conflict? If so am I obliged to tell company X that I can't accept their offer.

    Thanks for all replies!

Doesn't sound like a conflict at all, and I'd question how enforceable that clause is in reality

Fairly certain non compete clauses are totally unenforceable. Might have trouble getting a reference though?

Doesn't matter that HR are in the US - you'd be working in Canada- QED, no breach of contract.
