I know it's late and prices of accommodation and flights are through the roof for any time around new years Eve but is there any way of getting to a European city for New Years Eve weekend for under 600 including flights and accommodation? Any popular city I look at (Paris,Rome,Prague etc) seem unaffordable

you can get to brussels for as little as 120 return for that weekend (friday to Monday).
Surely you can get accomodation somewhere for 480Euro for 3 nights ?
Brussels itsself is one option, but theres Bruges (quiet place, but nice) , Leuven (big square with dozens of bars- 10min from brussels airport), Ghent, Antwerp etc.
Even if you go to one city and arent sure if its the right place for you, theres trains every half hour or hour from one place to the other anyhow.

Theres cheap-ish flights to Düsseldorf and Cologne which might be an option too. Grand, there was issues last new years eve in Cologne, but the embarassment of the city council and city police being exposed as a shower of inept imbiciles has meant that there'll be no safer place on the continent this NYE.
