Apartment Setup - Johansson 4603 Splitter and VU+ Duo2

    Recently set up a VU+ Duo2 in an apartment that had Sky+ HD runnning without issues.

    The apartment has one cable coming in and it is connected to a Johansson 4603 unit which has 3 outputs. Sky+ HD was working fine using 2 of these outputs.

    When VU+ Duo2 is connected to these two outputs only a sub-set of channels work. If it is connected directly to the cable (i.e. not using the splitter) all channels work fine.

    Would the satellite setting in the tuner menu have anything to do with being used with a splitter? Would turning on Toneburst do any harm?

    That 4603 unit is a splitter for use with an SCR (Satellite Channel Router) or Unicable LNBF. Presumably the Sky+HD was configured accordingly.

    You will have to go into the Setup menu of the Vu Duo and configure each tuner to accept an SCR/Unicable LNB input first. Then the splitter should work if everything is set up OK.

    Thanks - great to hear that it can work. If you have any further details on the precise settings that would be great.

    Menu->Setup->Service Searching->Tuner Configuration->Tuner A-> Configuration Mode: Advanced; LNB LOF: Unicable/JESS

    You will have to do a trial and error to see which Unicable settings work. If you find out what the model of LNB is, it'll probably be easier.
