Tablet Options Lenovo, Nexus or Galaxy

I am looking for a tablet for my 8 yr old and gave narrowed it down to Lenovo Tab 2 A10 (2gb), the Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 or 3 (not sure about current availability), the Galaxy Tab 4 and Nexus 7 (2gb, 32gb). Other than Nexus the rest are the 10.1 screen.

I already have an Nexus 7 (16gb) and find it fine except for the dodgy charging port which means it can take up to 7 hours to charge!

Do people find a 7'' or 10.1" screen best for kids? The 7" is certainly more portable but a bit small for certain uses?

Of the options above which would be best? Would the Lenovo A10 be better than the Nexus 7 leaving aside the screen size difference?

    Grateful for all advice

Haven't given the kids one so can't comment on the size but I would definitely get a 2gb one and I don't think the yoga ones are 2gb.

Tab 2 2gb is €129 in Tesco Extra which is good value.

I was looking at the Asus S zenpad 8.0 Z580C. Its a nice looking piece of kit but I understand its not the fastest and the battery isn't great. Anyone got experience of this tablet bearing in mind its for an 8 year old? Thanks
