    Hi guys,
Just had plumber out and need a new gas boiler. Currently have a ferroli optimax he plus 25 so heating 15 heaters. He priced me 1550 to replace with a glow worm or vokera boiler. He will be doing off the books so not getting a grant. I have a few questions,
    Is that a good price
Is it a good idea not to go through with a company?
Is there anything I should ask him or look out for

    Thanks in advance

It's a dirt cheap price. Does it include a gas cert?
So ask if you're getting a powerflush, not a chemical flush. This is important.
Also ask if he's gas registered and if you'll get a gas cert 2 on completion.

Thanks for your response. No clue about gas cert. Would it normally? That gets chemical flush not power flush. What's the difference? Also another plumber mentioned something about a magnet through the pipes instead. Any opinions?

He is gas registered for sure. Should I get 2 certs so?

Had a second plumber price me 2200 but he takes grant so down to similar money. He would b installing baxi boiler with 5 yr warranty instead of 2 yr vokera boiler. Any opinions on this

    Thanks in advance

Chemical flush is a waste of money. Simple. Magnaclean Flush not much better unless the large magnets are used in conjunction with a powerflushing machine. I don't know what your talking about regarding grants because there is no grant for boiler change on its own.
Not two Certs. You have to get issued a " " CERT 2 " for a boiler install.
    Pay peanuts get monkeys.

OK thanks for info. I had thought that anyone replacing boiler could get grant but I see that you house must be 10 years old so rules me out.

In terms of brand what would you reckon.

Baxi vokera and glow worm have all been offered for install. Are they similar or which is best. Any other boilers that I should consider that won't break the bank

Viessmann, Ariston, Worcester bosch. Then down the list are Baxi, Vokera gloworm
In all fairness though they'll all work fine if the system is powerflushed first, a mag filter fitted and if they're wired correctly.
