Its just not a great camera. Gopro had a low end camera for sale 2 years ago for 125€. It was a basic but quality camera. They then released this model which added a screen and wifi but for a greatly increased price. It didn't offer better video quality and it has one big drawback when compared to most gopro cameras. The camera is fused with the case, so if you break one of the plastic mounts, the camera becomes useless.

I see that the hero 4 session is for sale for the same money. I reckon that's a better buy.

Would that be a major drawback? Is there much difference between these and the newer models? Are there many alternatives to the go-pro cameras?

For the extra 100 euro I think the Silver is much more worthwhile

For me the one big draw back about the session is battery (ie not swapable)

I sold my silver a few months ago with a rake of accessories for 250 so I think this is a steal

    Have a read of https://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/gopro-hero-lcd-vs-hero4-silver

    Especially this part
"Batteries. Both cameras use rechargeable batteries, but with the HERO+ LCD it’s inside the camera and can’t be removed. So you can’t buy spare batteries for this model (or the basic HERO). To recharge the battery, you have to insert the mini USB cable in the camera and then the connect it to a power source, whether that’s an AC adapter, a car charger, or an external battery. You can continue filming while the camera is connected."

I think if you want an LCD screen that the silver is the way to go

This has been on sale cheaper. I wonder would you see bigger drops tomorrow?

The session also includes a 32gb card for free. I've reserved one and if I cant find anything better tomorrow I'll pick it up at lunch time.

Dont forget to keep an eye on gopro.com european shop, last year they reduced the session and added a lot of accessories as well (as far as I can recall) however nothing so far

    Argos deal is probably better

Or if you have a Axa halfrods card you can get it for €153
