Euromillions odds

Are the odds of winning the Euromillions the same if you do a quickpick which will contain the numbers 1 to 50 the same as if you do birthdays, which will contain the numbers 1 to 31.

I'm saying that by doing birthdays, you are excluding a significant amount of numbers so therefore you are reducing your chances of winning.

Others are saying that there is an equal chance because the odds of any 6 numbers you can think of coming out are exactly the same. The fact you have arbitrarily narrowed your possible range of selection does not change that fact.

Which method has the best chance of winning or are they both equal?

The odds of matching the six numbers are exactly the same.

However, it is probable that a lot people choose birthdays as numbers, so your chances of sharing the jackpot with others could be increased by using that method.
