Plumbing - Water/Shower Pump

Hoping someone can make a suggestion to resolve the following pump issue:

Over the past week my shower pump has been acting strange. It is coming on and off every few seconds. For example, on for 3 seconds, off for 3 seconds....this continues constantly.
    Some observations have been:

    1. If I run the shower for a few minutes or have a shower, the problem goes away for hours (approx all day until that night)
    2. There are no obvious leaks from taps/ or showers (not connected to toilets)
    3. I cant believe there would be any leaks in the pipe work because of the frequency of the pump running on/off. i.e. if I was losing enough water for the pump to come on so much I would surely have noticed water damage by now.?
    4. It doesn't seem to happen during the day (this may be linked to point 1 above, i.e. the showers are used in the morning)

The pump is a Grundfos negative head pump and is only approx 3.5 years old.

I have called a few different plumbers, one suggested that the pump is finished and I should replace. He didn't even consider any other possible fault and luckily had a refurbished pump in his van that he could fit on the same day.

Another plumber suggested I use a bicycle pump to recharge the pump (I've came across this idea on other threads also).

    Any advice would be great.
