CORU Recognition

I am Polish and I have been a long while doing paperwork in order to get CORU recognition for my radiographer certificate from Poland.

I first would like to know which are the minimum requirements that they are going to take into account. The information in CORU website is really confusing and the criteria are definitely not well defined.

I have few points that I am really worried about:

    - During my course I did around 450h of practices in hospitals while in one of their documentation, coru.ie/uploads/documents/SOPs_Radiographers_-_approved_21.01.14.pdf it can be find that the minimum should 1200h - on the other hand I do have some work experience while I was in Poland that makes this up to around 1000h, however I am not sure if that would be taken into account

    "Radiographer:
Students must spend at least 1,200 hours in practice placements, 280 hours of which must
be in one block and full time."

-On the other hand I am a bit concerned about the language, I do think that my English is good enough but, at the moment, I do not have any English qualifications, all I gained it has been working in a non-professional job in Ireland.

    - The main document to be filled and submit to CORU it has many fields that can be ambiguous.

I do not feel confidence at all to complete and send it, paying the 410 EUR of fee that are requested.

I wish there was some entity helping you with the process where you could easily ask questions.

I really hope I will get an answer from here, this is the first post in boards and it is something I really need. I have spent too many hours on it and now I do not know what to do anymore.

    Many thanks!

Ask around in the Polish community: you cannot be the first Polish person to have face this challenge. Other Polish medical professionals who have gone thru this will likely have some tips for you.
