If you have a phone line right now, bang your number in here and see what speeds your line is capable of. You should be able to get speeds close to whatever that reads back to you (no absolute guarantee but it's usually OK). If you don't have a phone line, try one for a close neighbour.

eFibre is distance limited. Your mate is probably within 300m or so of a cab, but if you were 1800m from the cab you would only get 7Mbps. If you were closer than your mate you could get the full 100Mbps.

Are Virgin Media in your area? If so they might be a better option (much faster speeds).

He already has efibre (by a different name) if he is getting 80Mbit through the phone line. eFibre is just VDSL unless its fibre extreme of FTTH.

I also used that linechecker it says Fibre Enabled: Yes - 25 MB but yet I get 40 MB Down and 10 MB UP so i'm assuming I have bypassed the limit called Eir ages ago when they made FTTC here about a speed upgrade and got it up to a increase of about 10MB used to be 30MB Down and 5 MB UP
