what do you want to cut.

anything under 100 euro is probably rubbish if you want to cut accuratly or cut anything thicker than 1/2 "

i would reconmend a proper one like a dewalt, makita, hitatchi etc

For occasional DIY the cheaper ones will do fine. You will have to be prepared to use a hand saw on wood thicker than the depth indicated on the saw, but really, unless you are doing serious building work this is not going to be an issue. - I honestly think it is easier and more accurate to use a hand saw on straight cuts.

For most of the regular DIY stuff like cutting sheets of mdf or laminate flooring, an expensive one is overkill.

B&Q sell a Bosch one for about 60 quid and it is brilliant. Very durable, ability to run at variable speeds and comes with a nice set of blades for fine/rough/metal etc.. Like anything if you don't dog it, it will last.

Went for the Einhell power-x-change, €90 with 2 batteries! I'll see how it goes!
