Hi folks - I'm trying to get my folks' TV sorted before Xmas.
I'm far from adept in these matters so a little patience may be required!

Sorry is this is waaaay basic for you guys, but just want to get some advice ao I don't make a twit out of myself landing up with all the equipment & no idea!!

They live in the 'border area' and only have the Terrestrial channels (no satellite dish, no Virgin etc).

They currently have a Walker TV & Saorview box but it doesn't pause or record for them.

All they want is to be able to pause a channel, and to record their fav programmes so they can watch them when the grandkids aren't there.

Is this Walker WP6500TTR their best option i.e. easiest to set-up and maintain?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Walker is the best option to record on WP6500TTR, they are around €85 in Power City, originally they were over €200. There are other boxes but there's issues around series link and channel numbering with those. There is at some stage in the future a Saorview Connect box coming which will have recording features along with other online options, this is unlikely to be released for at least 6 months and pricing is likely to be around the original Walker box pricing of €200 plus.

when you say they live in the border area can they get the irish saorview channels and the Uk freeview channels. If the answer to both is yes may I suggest the humax freeview hdr recorder

I'd recommend a Panasonic PVR because unlike the Humax the Irish channels can be moved out of the 800s and located in whatever position you want. The Irish channels are stored in the 800s by default on these receivers with the UK channels in their correct positions.

    Thanks for the reply.
They just get the Irish saorview channels - not the UK ones.
