New boiler for older woman

    Hi All,

    Just looking for some info please tried the websites of the suppliers and even rang but got cut off after holding for 15 mins.

    Basically my elderly mother's gas boiler needs to be replaced. As far as i can gather this is very expensive. People talking in the thousands.

    So where do i start? With the gas board? With a private installer? Who is cheaper? Also is there a grant and how much does that cover? Can the cost be spread over installments?

    Any help would be great!

    Got a new Worchester combi boiler with wireless heating controls installed for my mother in law last week. Combi boiler means we can get rid of cylinder in hotpress as she has a walk in shower with electric shower, she has hot water on demand now.

    cost was 2200, went through seai website before any works started and registered her for upgrade works (you have to do this before any work is started, plus contractor has to be Seai registered)

    Getting 750 euro back from Seai and because she is with Electric Ireland she will get a further 450 euro back in credit.

    Worchester boiler comes with 10year warranty once its serviced yearly and with a registered gas installer.
