Disconnecting Vodafone router from dongle

Vodafone router packed in over the weekend so I got an older one that was previously configured to be connected to a dongle and provide Wifi that way.

I now want to use that older router with my phone line but it seems to still be configured to work with a dongle.

Any thoughts on how to get it to work with phone line?

    Reset button hasn't worked.

It would be helpful if you provided make & model of that "older" router.

Vodafone configure their CPE by default to try in a tiered fashion. FTTH, VDSL, ADSL, Cellular. It should use whatever is currently connected.

As above, post the details, but are you sure the router packed in and the line isnt in fact dead?

Router was in two halves, so yep it was goosed.

But just rang Vodafone and there's an external fault on the line too, thanks for the responses though.

Lightning? If it blew the modem the line is in big trouble too.

No no, wasn't lightning (at least I hope not). Router was dropped and pcb inside cracked.
