My Worcester Bosch 34CDi Classic boiler stopped heating water last night and showing an F7 error.

Thankfully it's under warranty and I've contacted their support, but any idea what sort of issue I'm potentially looking at?

    Will it need a replacement?

There are a couple of issues that can cause the F7 fault - I cannot discuss them on a public forum - RGI's only
As it's under warranty it will be repaired F.O.C..... unless its an installation error
The boiler will not need replacing.... maybe a part.
The Worcester service guys are good lads. They will sort it.

Found this web page that details what the error codes mean:

FLAME DETECTED ALTHOUGH APPLIANCE IS SWITCHED OFF
Check electrode assembly, dry pcb. Flue clear?

Odd that you couldn't post this on the public forum though ... I'll check the flue tonight as a starting point

Do you know what you are checking the flue for and do you have the correct equipment and knowledge to do so.
A flue can look perfectly fine, but can only be correctly tested using the proper equipment.
Dont put yourself or your family at risk by trying to carry out repairs to a gas boiler without proper training and equipment as it could cost you a lot more in the long run.

I'm not carrying out repairs myself, but checking if a flue is obstructed hardly takes an RGI qualification

You don't need to be a RGI to use your eyes but you do need to be to use your hands.

    So...

WB were taking too long to get back to me.

I examined the flue. Cleared some debris that seemed to have gotten in the opening. Pressed reset. And now it's back working.

    Half-way to my RGI qualification!

That's great news fair play. What was your co2 ratio?

If you had experience you'd understand.

Personally I've witnessed far to many attempts at natural selection to give advice on certain aspects of what I do.

Modern gas boilers do not have flue proving devices and simple mistakes in handling them have led to deaths, I will not touch a flue without testing it for safety before I leave.

Initially I was asking just out of curiosity, just as I might ask if a car engine stopped working.

Didn't mean I was going to try to repair it myself, but I like to know what's going on with all my personal possessions and don't like to be kept out of the loop.

Thankfully in this case one of the suggested solutions was a fairly trivial affair that I could attempt myself.
