Just looking for a little advice re one of my daughters and her Anxiety which I reckon is above average. I have always known she has suffered with anxiety but lately a little concerned about the extent of it especially due to a recent event. She is a very bright, thought full and loving and has the ability to bring out the best in people with you genuine concern for them. However she had phobias and anxiety around certain things and can get hysterical if she thinks a wasp is close to her or even a fly which she thinks could be a wasp. She will not walk past a butchers shop in case she sees blood and for her to get cut even a scratch can result in hysteria. Recently was bringing her to a sports event and she would not get out of the car screaming and crying because she didnt want to as was anxious meeting new people.

Of her 10 cousins 8 are Autistic and I think she could be on the spectrum in fact I think all my children could be but the older ones manage life well, have friends and interact ok so not concerned.

In school she has one friend who I reckon she clings to very much and think she hardly talks to the other children in her class. I dont want to have her assessed or give her medication but wondering how best to deal with this without medication so as it does not develop further.

    Thoughts and advice are appreciated.

    Mod note:

    Hi OP,

Unfortunately medical advise isn't permitted on boards. It would probably be best to speak to a health professional about your query to get advice on how to deal with the situation so it does not develop further.
