Hi lads have a Ford 6610 at home constantly blowing thick white smoke even under load and after warming up. A connection on the air intake is loose would this be causing it? Doesn't use too much oil either.

Piston rings are probably worn and some engine oil is getting up past them into the cylinder. That is usually the problem anyway. Any idea what sort of hours is on it?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Get it looked at Ford 6 series engine blocks are quite porous watch water levels in radiator. You may have to get block redone they can put liners in the piston holes and redo rings. Not a huge job but if left and head gets cracked or a hole in it then it is virtually impossible to get a replacement engine block. If they split the engine get them to redo shaft that holds pressure plate. The splinds on thsi have ahabbit of wearing. The way this is done is shaft is squared off and a socket is welded into pressure plate and this acts instead of splinds

Is it blowing smoke down the breather pipe as well?

Sounds very much like a porous block get it checked like I said may only need the block relined at the pistons. Fairly common job done to them. What part of the country are you in.

If the tractor isn't too busy a dose of rad weld is worth a try I'm told.

Doesn't white smoke mean water getting in somewhere. Is it using water?
Could be head gasket or porous block.

If your oil is gone off white on the dipstick it's a porous block like bass said. If not it's the rings like blue said. If the oil is off white I'd be getting id done sooner rather than later as it'll give up on you. Check the rad cap for oil or white scum also.

Could be cylinder head gasket or timing
