Importing 9 seater crew cab Transit, VRT etc?

    Hi all,

I am looking for a crew cab with some decent space in the crew cab area (back seats). I currently have a standard 6 seat transit crew cab taxed and insured privately and it has now broke down. Decent Crew Cabs are hard to come by over here so there is one in NI (Tyrone), a 2010 Transit with 9 seats.
I contacted Revenue on registering a 9 seat crew cab and they were no good to me, more or less said to bring it in for inspection and see how goes, as each case is assessed individually. That is no good to me if I spend thousands on a crew cab and cannot register it!
Has anyone here registered a 9 seat crew cab over here?
I wouldn't mind removing 3 seats to have it as a 6 seat crew cab as i like to have extra space in the crew cab part (have 4 dogs!). Might that be an option to me if they won't register it as a 9 seater.

Any info is appreciated as I'm under pressure to get something sorted and it's hard to get proper info or a yes or no answer from revenue etc.
So just wondering if anyone has done this?

    Cheers
