i need to cut 15mm from laminate flooring that is already down. I do not want to lift the boards to do it and would prefer to cut/nick the boards as they are down.
What tool would do the job - would a dremel rotary tool do?
The boards are 8mm thick and I only need to do a couple of metres.

    Thanks

What sort of finish do you need on the cut?

A decent Stanley knife and a straight edge will do it. Just make sure not to end in a&e....

I assume you're tight for space? If not then you have a few easy options

are you trying to cut an expansion joint.

multi tool is probably the handiest

circular saw will work great if you have the room

i am tight for space as it is up against wall - i need extra expansion joint space. There will be inch thick skirting board so not worried about the 15 mm spacing.
I will need to borrow a multi tool or get a cheap one.

    Thank you

Let me know if you find a cheap one anywhere, been looking out for one.

How about an Exakt saw? You'll find loads of uses for it afterwards.

    Thanks for the idea
I have placed an order for an entry level Dremel earlier.

If you have a Homebase close by, they were selling their own brand multi tools for €28 last week when I was in.
