Replacement Thermostat

I have an air to water heat pump system with dial type 230v thermostats in each room. Some thermostats have failed and I replaced them with a couple of spares we had left over. Another has failed now & I can't source similar on line or from heating & plumbing supplier outlets. Will any 230v Thermostat work? Or is the wiring different depending on brand? I realise I will probably have to replace mounting plates but as they are surface mounted this isn't a problem.

Which stat do you have in place,? Is it programmable? Volt free? Does it have a neutral?

What I have are Rehau Alpha Comfort stats. They're not programmable just a simple dial type with temp range from 10 to 30 degrees. Am awaiting visit of (electrician) son who is to check wiring setup for me but I'm fed up waiting & have one cold room in the meantime. I've looked at the wiring diagram online and it appears that the base unit does have a neutral connection. Can't post link here as I'm a new user. Sorry! It does appear from online wiring diagram that there is a neutral connection.

If it's 230v and has a neutral then something similar should do. A stat is basically just a switch anyway

    Thanks for your help.

Something simple like EPH cm3 is 230v and had a neutral. Basic but reliable
