Buying a Saab

    Howdy boardsies

I was looking at buying a 2010 Saab95 really like the look of the car but I have a couple of concerns that are making me think twice, if any of you have any experience of them or knowledge I'd be glad to hear from you

How difficult is it to get parts for them since Saab isn't around anymore? Are there any known gemlins with the car that could end up costing a bomb?

From what I read Saab were in dire straights when they were developing the last 9-5. They then rushed it through to production in the hope that it would save the brand. That would not fill me with confidence.

My understanding is that it shares alot with the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia along with a few other GM models. The diesel engines were from the Insignia too with some tweeks, along with alot of the interior switchgear. No idea on the availability of spare parts though.

I don't think the 95 is as good looking as the 93. Have a diesel '08 93 myself with 145,000 on the clock.

It's bulletproof. Think old Toyota Avensis reliability coupled with luxury

Will be getting same model again next year I think

Yeh but if the op needs the larger car you can't compare the two. 95 is alot bigger than 93

OP body parts such as headlamps can be a right pain to source for right hand drive cars.

Mechanical stuff is all fairly standard.
