I thought that it would be an interesting topic to compile a list if apps or software that enhance the (IOT) experience.

    Great idea.

    - IFTTT
    https://ifttt.com/

A great automation cloud service that allows you to integrate different Home Automation products and services in the cloud to do almost anything you can imagine!

    - Yonomi
    https://www.yonomi.co/

A similar app to IFTTT, that allows you to integrate different Home Automation and products. It supports less services and products then IFTTT, but for those that it does support, it seems to be faster and more reliable.

Domoticz Not familiar but see it come up from time to time.

Home Assistant What I'm using to tie everything together. Very useful for triggering rules from disparate technologies and platforms. Also gives you a frontend for presenting and controlling everything you have together. Beats digging through a handful of apps.

    Mosquitto MQTT broker

Owntracks Location tracking and presence, useful for triggering stuff based on location.

OpenHab Again I am not familiar with this one, but seems to be similar with HA and Domoticz above.
