Bought a couple of incalf heifers today. Just looked at here cards. One heifers had two owners and first owner had a tb tested five times in a year as a yearly. The only thing I figure is the herd was locked up. What are your thoughts

Firstly it's strange all 5 tb tests would be on the card as it's declaring no animal failed. Even when locked up I thought it was the last clear test that went on the card.
The other thing is she's passed the test each time. Had the second owner her for long.

Nowadays cards are stamped and returned after each test as long as that animal is clear.

The second owner had her for around 15 months passed TB test fine. Which is great but you would be nervous if TB nonetheless

Even if the first herd was locked up it'd be 2 clear tests before that herd was free so that's another 4 months on top of the 15 months she was away from it.
I think there's no point in worrying about. She might go down at some stage but then so might some of your other cattle. I personally don't think that she's any higher risk than any of your other cattle in that regard.
Every time you have a test there's a chance something will go down but yet we keep cattle. There's worse things could happen like having TB yourself.
