Replanted rhubarb

    Have been given a few roots of rhubarb to replant. Can i harvest the stalks next year

    I got a lovely large stool years back but left it for the first year to settle in. I did take a stalk or two to try it. gave it lots of chicken manure when planting it.

    Best to let it alone for one year to get established.

    Yes if they are decent sized roots - say the size of a football.

    Yes it does, but is ok if you don't do it everyyear - see in the article
    "Avoid forcing a single crown of rhubarb for two years in a row. Leave it to crop naturally instead, and always have more than one crown so you can force in alternate years".
