I've heard and think i've read before that your passport needs 6 months remaining before traveling to another EU country.

Im away to Slovakia in December and Austria in February, my passport expires in April and I can't see 6 months mentioned online.

Will I be ok without renewing?

As long as your passport is valid it's ok for EU travel. No minimum validity requirements for EU citizens within the EU

I doubt if you read this. Some countries internationally have such a requirement, but in the EU you can use the passport to the last day.

and a problem in doing research is that a lot of websites are written with the US or Australian visitor in mind, people without an EU passport, so stuff that is relevant for those non eu citizens is irrelevant for us.
