Why are the points in Computing Software Development so low compared to NUIG?

    Computer Science in NUIG is 425 points, GMIT it's 300.

    Any specific reason?

    Less people applied for it in GMIT? There are more places in GMIT? Could be a number of things, but essentially it's based on supply and demand.

    Are both courses in Galway City? City based courses will always be more popular.

    Element of snobbery applies to some who think they are too good for an institute of Technology. That reduces amount of applications. Not saying this applies in this case but some degrees from institutes are more highly regarded in industry than equivalent degrees from some universities.
