    Hey everybody,

Just wondering what people think about this offer.

I am asking because I think it seems like a bad deal but generally I am clueless about cars. I did some quick research and reckon this car costs 24k new. After 4.5 years the value has dropped to 19.5k . Surely this guy is not for real or am I out of touch with reality?

He claims that it is in excellent condition and was maintained by the local BMW dealer. Does that increase the value?

It seems to be a pretty high spec 120d. Maybe a 114i is 24k?

Could be. How much would it cost new do you reckon?

where would you get one for 24k new? that one would probably be in and around 35k..

Not sure about in DE, but I've been looking at new or nearly new BMWs for a while now. A 1 series with that sort of spec is probably around €40k here and the price differential on the German site hasn't been very large for the cars I've looked at.

Still, for €20k, you could get a 2012 Audi A4 or 3er. Add another couple of grand to jump out of poverty spec range which should be much easier in the country that built them than here where all people seem to care about is the badge, flooding the market with ****e spec cars.(Sorry, becomes a pet peeve when you're looking at 3 year old cars all the time).

I'd say it's hard for anyone here to tell whether it is in anyway good value or not without knowing the German used car market.

Seems I misunderstood that it was an upper end model. Thanks for clarifying

that yoke has 184 horsepower, xenon lights, leather seats and full features so sat nav, heated seats, park distance control and god knows how many other toys

Go to to the bmw website and youll see that one of their cars will start at a seemingly low enough price, but put in a powerful engine and spec it to the last with toys and it gets very dear very quickly

At that mileage its not a bad deal I dont think. It has been serviced by bmw themselves so should be top nick.

And you are asking people in Ireland about the used car market in Germany. Most of us wouldn't have a clue to be honest.

    It's a nice 1 series though.
