Has anyone noticed the LPT form this year does not have an option for a single debit payment, unlike years previous this year the option is for an annual debit payment to be set up. You had to sign up now and rev comms would take your money in March for a once off payment. This is no longer possible.

As far as I recall, you can set it up online if you go into each property.

Sorry,i don't understand your point. This year you will no longer be able to make a single debit payment for your property tax.

Yes you will. It looks like Revenue are writing to (or have written to) anybody who pays in one lump..

If you havent heard from them, just give them a call on the freefone number (or 01 7023049 if you want to avoid the 1890 number) before Jan 11th next...

Thank you for the link, having read it it is the same as last year, however here is a copy of their actual letter giving no single debit payment option. Am i misreading it?

It's there under Annual Debit Instruction

I,m afraid your not getting it, its annual (on a roll over) not single debit payment.

It states you can also make a single payment by credit or debit card online

    What else were you wanting?

Very good, but not a single debit instruction.

There is no detail on the notification of how to pay by cheque?

I'm in the same position, the way I am reading it is that I need to do nothing, a single payment will be deducted as before in March 2017 as it was for 2016

copy of rev comms reads. If you agree to pay in full by Annual Debit Instruction or a Single Debit Authority by 11 January 2017, Revenue will not debit your account until 21 March 2017 unless you indicate an earlier date. Letter and on- line rev comms there is no SDA option.

I think a Single Debit Authority only allows Revenue to take money from your account once...whereas an Annual Debit Instruction allows them to take it once every year. What's the point in giving them authority to pay it in 2017 if you're not going to do the same in 2018 et seq?

My reading of your post is that you want to pay it for 2017 only and then have to arrange a method of payment for the following year....

Seems like you're making work for yourself..

If anybody is unsure, by all means contact them on the number I posted above....and let us know the outcome please...

Perfect understanding, Joe taxpayer has always had several options to pay and now one of them has been taken away.

I noticed this also when reading the letter from the Revenue regarding the LPT. I was trying to work out where the option for the Single Debit Authority had gone. Then I logged into my Revenue account to see my LPT online.
The Single Debit Authority and Annual Debit Instruction still exist as 2 separate options online. Under the SDA you can also opt to pre-select this option for the subsequent year and interestingly under the ADI option you can also tick a box to opt out of making an ADI payment in the subsequent year.
